On July 4, 1776, America claimed its independence from Britain and Democracy was born. Each year on July 4, Americans celebrate their freedom and independence with barbecues, picnics, and family gatherings as Americans take advantage of the warm summer weather. The celebrations really get underway though once the sun goes down and fireworks displays light up American skylines across the country.
